I hope it's okay I post this here, but does anyone know All Star gyms close to Texas Christian University? and If anyone has information about TCU's cheer program that would most appreciated. thanks

Cheer Athletics is about an hour and ten minutes away, and Spirit of Texas is about 30 minutes away according to mapquest.

I know they're not allowed to do basket tosses there.

SOT is probably the closest international level 5 team to TCU, though Champion and Maverick are in the Fort Worth area as well (I think Champion has a IOC6 this season and Maverick has had IOC5 in past years). While there are many gyms throughout the metroplex, personally the 3 gyms in the area I would reccomend for anyone in the DFW area are SOT, Champion and Cheer Athletics overall, as they are usually class acts that get taught well and perform well. As for TCU itself, it is mostly a spirit squad though they have talented girls on the team, due to a school board ruling preventing basket tosses from being performed by their cheer teams. The program has tried to compete at daytona before but they just can't place high due to having no basket tosses in their routines, even with good skills overall. Majority of the team has standing tucks or better from what I have seen. The campus is very pretty and the cafeterias certainly show that it is a private school (chocolate fountain in the cafeteria last time I was there!). Greek life is extremely prominant however......nearly everyone I know that went there either rushed or joined a sorority/frat eventually before graduating. There can also be some "nose in the air" staff at times. The tuition is expensive, but the kids I know that went there did like it and have a positive experience there as a whole.
