I was wondering what the meaning or significance behind these bows are. They seem almost sacred to ss so a may sound like a totally newbie but I was wondering why they had these. also why do some girls have a red dot on theirs?

since the first year of wc they have had that bow. joelle and elaine are really superstitious and its their good luck . Its one of the symbols of being a shooting star. even though its just a bow its a big deal to them.

The "red dot" is actually a rose that the girls from the 2010 Latin Theme had put on their bows.
The red isn't because of the Latin theme its because all of the girls wear something red for good luck and a lot of them chose to put something on their bow.

They use the same ribbon that they've used since 1994 and they have a bow ceremony where a new girl's "big sister" on the team puts the bow in their little sister's hair.

the girls always said the purpose of the red was to keep the bad spirits away. and since you keep your same bow throughout your time on the team, only the girls from that year still have the red, the new girls don't.

i think stars are the only team in allstar who actually use ribbon and tie it into a bow still. though i'd kill for that piece of ribbon ;)

Some new girls do, just not all of them.

I love this too :)

Does anyone have a picture of the bow, like a close up? I've seen on action shots etc. but it doesn't really show how it looks. :)
