So there is this girl and her sister (little sis is new to cheer) who are looking into joining my gym. I know her and her family from my old gym (which only did levels 1 and 2, then most of us move onto my current gym), and now she is joining my gym at level 4. She and her family is however known within girls (not coaches) in my class as being a scammer. Like, one year we did a cookie/bake sale and she sold all her allocated cookies and stuff, but she never handed in the money from fundraising. Another time, her parents where in charge of handling money at the fundraiser car wash we did and large sums of money went missing. And (my personal favorite **sarcasam**), she once went months without paying gym fees and bragged about how we where "all suckers for paying the gym to be there." after that year, she moved on to another gym and no one heard from her for ages. However now she has shown up my gym and a few of us remember her from back in level 2 and we are all freaking out.

Anyway, basically our coach doesn't know her or her family (about the scamming) and I was wondering should I tell them? I don't know if it is in my place or right to tell the coach. I don't know how it will come across and I don't want fall in the bad books with my gym.

I have amazingly awesome and kind coaches, who put their absolute heart and soul into the club. I would hate for this to happen to them, especially since they actually work free, they have jobs outside this- they run the gym for their pure love of the sport.

So long story short: a known cheer-scammer is joining our club. Do I tell the coaches?

Yes. Tell them. I'd be more upset to find out you knew about this trend after money went missing again.

Also suggest they confirm with previous gym. there may be circumstances that you are not aware of...

Correct! There is usually always a "back story" as to why things happen and at least being aware of that could help the new program make a better decision on what to do.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. :-)
I wouldn't have talked to my coach myself, so my momma is going to "inform" her of what stuff happened before and pass on old coach's number. A few other girls have said their parents are also doing the same thing.

My only main concern is that it stops her from cheering, as she really does love it, but then its like all morally wrong and stuff, so... yeah.

Thanks, again. It was good to third party (even though you only know my opinion in this) opinion!! :)

If nothing eles I would have your parents say something...I mean most gym owners love cheerleading, and have a great passion for it... however it is a business.
