With the 2012-2013 season starting, I want my squad to really bond this year and feel like a family, so I was looking for team bonding exercises to do with them. What are your favorite bonding games (as cheerleaders and as coaches)?

Get all the girls for a gym sleepover, make team shirts together, team dinners ..theme practices are also good and creative way for everyone to coordinate and have fun:)

My daughter's team moms had so many great team bonding activities:
- drive in movie theater (we all parked next to each other and the kids piled in a few of the cars together) or sat in chairs all together
- they each brought a pumpkin to the gym and carved it (some used stickers and glued things on) and they had a contest and picked 1st place, 2nd and 3rd and won a little fun plastic trophy and the pumpkins were left on display at the entrance of the gym. They all brought snacks too and afterwards they all went to a local haunted house.
- pool party where they also made tye dyed t-shirts
- gym sleepover with movies
- bowling party (with the goofy type ways to bowl)
- scavenger hunt in Woodfield Mall (which is a HUGE mall). Each group of 4 had to have an adult with them and their camera or cell phone to take pictures at each stop. The top 3 winners got different prizes
(Also the team mom put pictures up at the gym of the different teams and their creative pictures for each stop). The gym did a pool party at a pool near the gym that had water slides, etc. What was also great is the 2 coaches participated in EVERY team bonding there was. It was for a Junior team so that is really great that the coaches were on board with participating. I think it was the tightest knit team in the gym. Our team moms were FANTASTIC!!
