Scoring error at American Northwest Portland Nationals
'Tis the season… for scoring mistakes 😵💫
See some previous errors like Cheer Athletics Cheetahs losing because of it, when Pittsburgh Superstars Supermodels lost NCA, the 2x times missed Summit deductions, or this show of sportsmanship...
Can anyone explain what's happening with the new scoring? How did these changes come about and why were coaches caught by surprise? I thought there would have been a review process and some warning this was coming. Also, why was it already changed so quickly? (released last Monday? then...

Varsity Allstar has announced a webinar to be held tomorrow (12/21) @ 4pm ET to “review scoring going into the remainder of the 21/22 season.”
The industry standard scoring system (new this year) has been embattled over the initial weeks...
So...this is our 2 1/2 year in all star cheer LOL...since last year was cut short.
I’m still trying to figure out the 2 day varsity scoring.
Raw?
Performance?
Event?
I know varsity has their scoring rubric.... but exactly are each of these?
This will be a college UDA question, but it still applies to all levels of cheer/dance:
I’m sure we’ve all heard variations of this rumor before, but I personally have always dismissed it. But then UDA happened last year, and now I’m wondering if there isn’t some credence to it (which, if true...
We just finished our first comp of the season, a 2-day comp with Summit bids. Our team wasn't close to a bid, and shouldn't have been, so that is not what this is about.
The team with the highest score in the entire competition (scored a 98!) was a level 3 team of 7 kids. The team was very...
Hello All:
Can someone help me understand the scoring system for Elite teams. It's my understand all teams in the Elite category start with the same score of 100 and deductions are given for certain things, such as, synchronization. And it points are no longer given for difficulty. Also, you...
In the previous season we competed a prep level ruby slipper full around to an extended heel stretch because my team wasn't quite ready to do real full ups and we just wanted to keep it clean. This season we want to start working them towards being able to do real full ups, but they're still not...
I keep hearing that stunt is worth more than it was in past years. But I can't seem to find specifics. When I look at the scoresheet, the high ranges don't seem to add up to 100 so I know I'm mis-reading something.
Can someone ELI5 how this upcoming season is different than past seasons?
IMO, this years Summit was very poorly run.... it seems like a day 2 scores were wacky and then they announced a wrong winner in a division, they mixed up placements in two other divisions and I saw a team drop a stunt and they still took 5th place even though teams behind them had zero...
Trying to understand scoring and difficulty is something I have always found hard. I have read over the rubric and all that. I get the ranges, most/majority, etc. But I still have some questions.
For starters, does a heel stretch vs a bow and arrow make a difference? I would think that a bow...
CP's has had three comps so far in HS Cheer. I don't get as much information about the results/scores like in All-Star. Of course we get their place if they are in the top 3 but that's about all I know..
CP has told me what her coaches have said and she gets the scores but they are sooo...

Looks like their is a decided advantage to either having 14 or 19 people on a squad. Allows jumps and tumbling to fall in most category with only 9(for 14) and 12(for 19), but you need 15 for 20-22.
