I was going under the impression that the songs I heard were really good covers but some of them had me shaking my head. One mix included Lady Gaga's "Million Reasons", which was released 34 days ago. In that time someone had the chance to do a perfect cover for a cheer mix and get the appropriate licensing? I'm just confused. I swear, as the years go by I see more and more that makes me ask questions :(
Power music licensing and unleashthebeats.com are two pretty big libraries of cover music. I've been using unleasthbeats and they are cranking out their covers like crazy right now. And yes, I checked, Million Reasons is in their library.
Now, I'm not sure when that song hit their library, and it still had to be mixed into their routine music, so I'm not saying that it was their cover, just that it could be.
yeah, was in Louisville this weekend and I heard a lot of music from well known artists. I somehow really question of some of them granted permission to be used. i.e. Celine Dion. really?
Makes me think this was more of a money grab from Varsity.
I am not a huge fan of everything Varsity. But, what money exactly is Varsity getting out of this? They don't mix music. They don't have their hands in any cover music company (yet). All they were trying to do was cover their butt so they didn't get sued. And really, can you blame them for that?
