I am highly pissed off... USA Women basketball team have dominated and have won the last 6 gold medals - 24 years of winning! I've been watching these women and shockingly the longevity-I remember seeing many of these same players in 1996...

Aside from Dawn Staley (who is a coach, Go Gamecocks btw) I don't think any of them were playing in the '96 Olympics. They're too young. The oldest is like 37

But I watched them dominate Senegal today. I have no doubt that they'll win gold again

OH MY GOD I just watched the leader of the women's cyclists crash live. Holy moly it was TERRIFYING.

I saw it too. Watched it for the Swedish girl who took silver and I may have almost choked on my soda when the other girl fell.. poor girl.. hoping she did not injure her self too bad.

Double post but yay for TWO medals In one day for Sweden! That never really happens to us so I'm happy. And one gold buy our super-Sarah who took the first swimming gold and maybe the first swimming medal in 16 years for Sweden. And now we are not without gold like in 2008. And we are not far in the games yet. It can become more!

Doubt many people are field hockey fans here, but USA is crushing their pool play currently. They're ranked 5th in the world, and have #2 Argentina and #3 Australia in their pool and played them in their first two games. Beat them both, ARG 1-0, AUS 2-1. HUGE huge upsets. Hopefully they continue their streak and finally get on the podium!!
