Three words: wild card bidsThat may work for Worlds or Summit but how many parents are going to pay for hotels for a two day competition and only compete one day? I am going to guess not long.
How is 50/50? Safe being that u put out 2 days worth of routines? Peoe wjere aling comments about a number of hits - wouldn't u rather see more HITS consistently?
Sorry I believe that the weaker teams can't hit 2 days in a row. Anybody can hit once and be lucky.

Jaded? Fixed? No. You are reading things that aren't there. I'm asking for a clearly set, understandable scoring system with the most minimal subjectivity possible. That is not what cheer has now. Right now that raw score is nebulous and often hard to understand when comparing team a to b to c. It needs to be transparent with set boundaries. Not something that can be ultimately decided based on a subjective opinion. Are you saying it's fixed? Why so jaded? Does anyone know if EP go to the trouble to bring in judges from out of the area? ie event is in the Midwest do they fly judges in from east coast west coast, south?
I have to agree with @Miss Congeniality, I always wondered how the raw score derived...I remember in a competition, a team that was 3 points behind my daughter's team on day 1 and had no chance to win, if my daughter's team Hit! My daughter's team lost and surprisingly, the team that was 3 points behind received a raw score 1.5 above the maximum score for the level, we all walked away scratching our heads...No I'm not saying conspiracy...or fixed ...or pointing fingers. What I am saying is there is still too much room for subjectivity. A raw score needs to be clearly defined and delineated. It is not right now. It is too easily altered due to personal preference. (Whether intentional or unintentional)
How is 50/50 being safe? Compared to 25/75? Is this a real question? You are putting most of your eggs in one basket with 25/75 scoreing. There is a lot more weight on that 75% routine and more pressure to hit it. And what does consistency of a team hitting have to do with the score breakdown between days?
........ I don't get what you're saying here.

It appears I need to slow down as I totally butchered my response. You stated 50/50 scoring would make teams play it safe and boring. As it is a small percentage of teams hit their routine at NCA therefore making it 50/50 would force them to be more consistent with the skills they are putting on the mat.
Yes, NCA used to make teams qualify into finals. They also used to be 20/80.Three words: wild card bids
Also didn't NCA used to only advance xyz #? So if you didn't do well day 1...it was the end of the comp for you? Or was that a different competition?
I would love for comps to only advance the top half or if it's an odd number .. The top half plus 1 to day 2. I think this would make gyms be more competitive. Like who wants their whole program to be done on day 1? Can we bring this back?? That would be so awesome!
