My CP is turning 6 and wants a cheerleader cake for her birthday. All I can find online have pom poms and full skirts... I'd prefer to stick closer to the allstar image. Any ideas? I could go with the default edible image of her in her uniform, but I usually do something more detailed/elaborate than that. My weak point is sculpting, but mainly because of her food allergies I can't use eggs and those cakes crumble when sculpted.

You can do a two or 3 tier cake with some stars and glitz on it and on the top make a big bow out of modeling chocolate using her gym colors, you can use stencils or cookie cutters to make the name of her gym and put it on the front, or just do a sheet cake with this same concept. Good Luck!

Not a cake, but there are a bunch of people on etsy.com who make cupcake toppers (premade fondant circles you put on top of an iced cupcake).

I like the idea above as well!

Or fondant cutouts of cheer shapes, zebra stripes...

OK, the other 2 pictures didn't want to post, but I searched "All Star Cheer Cake" on google images.

i do cakes...where do you live?

I was waiting for you!!! I didn't want to put your name out there, because I wasn't sure if it was ok with you.

But if you live anywhere within driving distance, FameUsMom is THE cake lady to go to. She does reeeeally good work. I only wish I hadn't moved before I got my little panda cake...:(

I'm in Maryland, and do custom cakes myself. Generally I don't have a problem and can make whatever shape I want, but the egg-free recipe I have to use for my daughter won't allow sculpting.

have you tried freezing the cake before sculpting? usually works for me. I have never made an egg-free cake before. You could also try making any "sculpture" out of rice crispy treats and cover it with icing and fondant and put it on top of your "egg-free" cake. This way she can keep the treat/sculpture :-)

No, I haven't actually tried freezing first. So far she's only wanted cakes I could find a shaped pan for. I know this cake freezes well, so that's a great idea. Thanks!
