I got this idea last year at one of cp's comps. We just had all of this crazy stuff happen while we were traveling that weekend (car battery died, hatchback flew open and a cheer bag flew out on the road)...stuff that I thought might be fun to look back on. I never got around to making it then but I really want to do it for this year. I'm just not sure what to include. I'm thinking a page for "baby-book" type stats (team(s) names/levels, maybe height/weight, comp schedule, etc) then maybe a couple of pages for each comp???

If you keep something like this (or even if you don't) what type of info would you want to include? How do you/would you arrange the journal?

Thanks for any ideas.

This is a great idea. I made a cheer yearbook for CP for last year. Basically a photo book from Shutterfly. I didn't really have stories or a journal setup but had pictures from each comp with location/how they finished, Christmas party, and some other fun pictures.

Yup but it's like a diary. Every practice I write down how it went. I've had it for 3 years... It's really cool to see how you progress !

I do something similar to this for CP too.

I made a cheer scrap book for cp this past season. And we are able to add to it every season. Basically random pictures from the season like practices and events including our first nationals. I use to keep the program from each comp and they were all written in like what place everyone got, who got grand champs etc but hubby's a neat freak lol and when things are lying around he tends to put them somewhere else and then not know what I'm talking about!! Lol argh... But this season because we are going to even bigger comps including NCA I'm keeping everything in a folder so at the end I can add not just pictures but stats and such to her scrap book.

I always thought it would be cool to do this and document what you did at practices and competitions but I never actually did it. I also wanted to keep track of how many full outs and stuff we did and I never did that either! I kind of regret not documenting this kind of stuff because it would have been awesome to keep and look at later. I am glad I have almost every competition routine I ever did on video :) Its so nice to have and look back on how the seasons progressed.

Edited: Speaking of which... All of these videos are on my computer in folders. I want to transfer them all to DVDs but everytime I try they work on my computer but never the DVD Player. Any tips? (Sorry to kind of change the subject but i feel like its kind of a video diary of my cheer career so its kind of similar)

^No expert here, but I know when you burn a DVD you should use DVD-R not DVD-RW discs because the R works on more players. I made a video for class once in middle school and it didn't work because of that (horrifying at the time!)
