I know there have been threads before...*cough* 3 year old BHS *cough* and that one dad with his kid on the Today Show who was like 2 ish or so.

However, this video just popped up on my feed:

And was kinda surprised Cheer Daily shared it. Honestly, it makes me uncomfortable for a lot of different reasons.

I looked into the comments only to see how old the kid was; since she clearly isn't talking and wearing a onesie I was assuming 18 months though it appears I wasn't far off since she is 20 months; but in the comments someone linked to all her social media accounts. Her videos date back to pre-18 months.

As a mom of a Tiny aged CP (been in the sport since she was 4, turning 7 now); I get that it's cute and they're pretty adorable most of the time, but it seems excessive. I guess every time I saw it mentioned here I thought it was a joke.

I don't do a lot of social media that is cheer related unless it's a special event so this type of stuff doesn't pop up for me often...but is this like a legit trend that is growing or as these parents like the out-liars of the bunch?

Little kids before they walk naturally lock out and stunt. When they start to walk most kids lose the ability and get afraid, but some don't. Both my kids stopped liking to stunt once they could walk (my tiny just straight up prefers basing, hah). Eh its fun and cute. If they were trying to make money I would be more concerned. It is the new bed pyramid I guess?

My favorite is when a kid's photo is captioned with #futurecheetah #worlds2021 #futuresmoed and such.

Um. Your child is in first grade and on Mini 1. She could wake up tomorrow and decide to hate cheer or switch to softball and yet you've already got her pegged for a Worlds team? Wow.

Or your child may not be flyer material with other tinys or minis...will she (you) still want (her) to be on a team if she isn't #pointflyer??

Is the issue the facebook page for the kid? Or the kid stunting?

I have mixed feelings on the facebook page. One on hand, you can post all of your baby pictures there and your friends who care or want to see them can follow the page, but your friends who don't want their newsfeed clogged up with baby pictures don't have to see them. On the other hand, there's something that seems very narcissistic about making a facebook page or account for your infant/toddler/kid.

To me it's a bit of both.

Or the "let's take my third grader to college clinics and have her coed stunt with college aged bases then post her videos so the world can see how awesome she is" parent. Then tag those with #futurewildcat and #futurecards.

Because coed skills at age 8 are awesome predictors of how likely your child is to make an elite college team.

Wait...What the What? This has actually happened?

I mean...most millennials treat their children like they're props anyway.

Whether it's stunting with an 8 month old or the mom that posts photo shoots of their kid sitting in field of weeds every week...or the mom that dresses their kid is grown people clothing so that that they can be an Instagram fashionista.

Social media turns everyone in to basics

The sad part is; this kid in the video is her 18 year old brother; that means her mom is at least mid-30's to 40's if she's old enough to have an 18 year old kid.
