You don't respond to your teammate, who has been sexually abused, like that. You keep those thoughts to yourself and offer love and support.
It's so disappointing and upsetting to see her reinforce the idea that it's the women's fault they get assaulted because what they wore attracted the 'wrong crowd'.

Adding in the fact that Gabby was wearing the same leotard of at least two of her teammates who were sexually assaulted but she's going to tell them they should have been dressed modestly... I can't. What ignorance. I've stood up for her in the past, but I definitely lost all respect for her.
And Simone kind of confirmed my suspicion that they did not really get along. (Well, Gabby sitting blank-stared while the rest of the Olympic team gave Simone a standing ovation after her AA floors performance did already, but this is the first time Simone has publicly said anything.)

I think she only said what she said to have something to say. For attention. To play devils advocate. What she said wasn’t even original, poignant or well thought out. She hardly believes what she said.
I think she just said it again, for attention and to probably simply be hurtful and have it come across as looking profound and conservative.... and indirect. She could have used the same sentiments anytime in the past month or so when “me too” got coopted by the “ mainstream”.
And to further prove she knows not what she speaks of or thinks of, included #metoo in her apology
I think all of them have some gymnastics beef that none of us are truly privy to. She with Aly and Simone with Gabby just used this as an excuse to continue to be passive aggressive with each other. It’s lame
They should just do a celebrity boxing match and call it a day

with girls, you never know what kinda drama can unfold, and thats probably what a lot of it is regarding gabby, and her team mates.
but she did technically repeat something that has been said for awhile by conservatives, so its not that groundbreaking. Whether she actually believes in what shes saying, i dont know. But do i think she did it in part just for the attention, part of me thinks yes.

Usually hard to stay covered up when being examined by a Doctor. Under that logic (well very faulty thinking & lack of logic) patients entice their Doctors. :( I am glad Gabby apologized.

I have never liked Gabby Douglas and I could never explain why---there was always something. Now I have a something more direct. I don't care what her excuse is, if she and Aly aren't friends, unfollow her. How hard is that?

It could be a lot of things. She went from americas sweetheart one Olympics to everyone questioning why she even made the team the next Olympics. Its got to be a hard pill to swallow being that young. On top of all the criticism she got after the Olympics were over.
At the end of the day girls can be CATTY AF. We really don't know how close of friends aly and gabby ever were....

I get that, but this is twitter. You don't like each other, be smart enough not to publish stupid stuff. And I feel for Gabby---she was ripped to shreds and her family is extra AF---but still, she's an adult now and she needs to act like one.

I don't like questioning people of sexual assault. But I find her timing of coming out with allegations kinda fishy. I mean I want to believe in the good of people both young and old, but people will do and say ridiculous things just to cover their a** and reputations....

Which is exactly my point. I’m not saying my personal feelings on her accusation either way, but I would (unfortunately ) HOPE she’s telling truth (even tho it means she went thru it) but I mean, PR move at the end of the day.
