Ce Nationals - Staying In Niagara Falls Ny?

Has anyone ever considered staying on the NY side for Nationals? I'd never thought of it before; I thought delays at the border might be too risky. But dang! Hotels on the ON side are either too expensive or too sketchy. Thoughts?

I've always had to stay close by (usually working for CE), but I haven't heard of any body crossing the border to stay. Last year I did know about a lot of people who used Air BnB for the weekend - was way cheaper generally than the hotels in the area!

I don't think I would take a chance having to cross back and forth over the border. Too many crazy things going on right now.
