Rochester is upstate/in Western NY... about 6 hrs from the city. My area!Core Athletix1344 University Ave. Suite #5000Rochester, N.Y., 14607585.244.2496idk how far from where you are.?
Harlem All Stars has a Senior 1....
Best bet is to take a train or drive to NJ... Rams in Hackensack is right over the George Washington Bridge, Liberty All Stars in Jersey City is right over the Holland Tunnel, then probably the next closest is Premier in Newark, CJA in Kenilworth
I can remember competing against them at NCA in the earlier 2000's... they've always been "competitive," in the sense that they go to competitions.... just not actually very competitive lol... I don't think I ever saw them make it to day 2. Truth be told, after I saw them there, I was really hoping to coach them one day haha
I was a part of an attempt to start NYC Extreme All Stars, out of Manhattan... it was back in 2003/2004. We had tryouts with about 30 kids, but couldn't get into a facility on time, so it never got off the ground. We were supposed to be in Asphalt Green (upper east side), which was still being built or had just opened up, if I remember correctly... they have gymnastics there and everything, it's a huge place. hat'd probably be your best bet. :)
I don't know what level you were looking for, but I know Liberty's highest level last year was Sr. 2, Rams, they had a Sr. 5 Restricted last year, but don't know if that is going to be this year. Don't know about Premier in Newark. But there is also Just Cheer in Fairfield, NJ that has Worlds' level teams and Cheer House in Garfield, NJ has a Sr. 4 team this year. There are plenty of options within an hours drive from NYC.

Actually, Liberty has had a 4.2 team for the past 4 years..... Rams, Cheer House, and Extreme (Hillsdale) are all commutable with level 4 teams but they fly on the LEFT LEG... There is a new gym in Saddle Brook called East Coast Premier, which is right around the corner from me and I'm only 10 miles in from the GWB. Given the rec and pop warner experience in the area, I am betting that they will probably fly on the left as well :banghead:
So sorry you are right Liberty has a 4.2, don't know whati was thinking and iveseen them performs everal times! My apologies!Actually, Liberty has had a 4.2 team for the past 4 years..... Lol. CJA (my daugher's gym) has 2 worlds' level teams and a Restricted 5 and plenty of other options (tinys - Lvl. 4), I think it would be about a hour's drive from NYC.
It is definitely more than 14 miles, it's at least 20 depending on where in NYC you are coming from and with traffic, it is at least an hour's drive. We take the Parkway from the Hackensack area and it takes at least 25 minutes to get to CJA (with no traffic).CJA is 14 miles from NYC.
