Hey everyone! So our college team is almost positively going to this particular competition in Myrtle Beach the end of March. ( I believe it is the 15th?) I wanted to know a bit more about it, and what people who have been there before have thought. Is this competition separate from the all star portion? Is it spring floor or dead mat for college divisions? About how many college teams end up going? Generally, is it a good competition and is it run nice?

We are from Eau Claire, WI. Pretty much by Twin Cities, Minnesota. So this will be a very time consuming and costly competition for us broke college students. Most of us will have to talk to our profs to set up different midterm times because it will be a 4-day adventure when all said and done. (We are taking a bus) Basically my main question is "Is it worth it?". The time, the money, the travel… is this competition that good?

I posted this on both the all star and the college board to see if both groups could provide information that would be helpful! Thanks y'all!

Hmmm, I worked this competition once, but never competed. It's mostly all-star teams. There are two stages in order to accommodate all of the all-star teams, and the college teams competed on one of those same stages in the evening (I don't think they changed the floor - so it was spring). Honestly, I remember there being college teams (high school too) and partner stunt competitors, but not many. It really depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking to compete against a lot of teams and have good competition, I would say this competition isn't worth it. Like you said, since it's tough to work around your class schedule and exams, and also being broke college students, teams choose to really only focus on one competition which tend to be either UCA or NCA college nationals. Those are serious, huge competitions though. And if your team is only looking for something small that will be fun, Cheer Ltd will be fine. Just know that it's not going to be like a normal "college nationals" at all.
