I notice that in college routines, a lot of squads would include hard rock music such as Bon Jovi, Guns & Roses, Poison, Skillet, Nickelback, Creed and Motley Crue alongside music from Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Nelly, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, among others. Thoughts?

Rock music is used more heavily with collegiate coed trams, to reflect the masculine energy on the floor. Plus a lot of college cheer coaches grew up listening to those artists.

Good point. A lot of all-girl squads (even many college squads) tend to use more dance-style music as opposed to hard rock.

Yup! I miss the days when UCA-style collegiate coed teams actually had jumps and a dance in their routine.
