Does your gym have a comment box? If they do, do you leave comments on it?
Do you think comments boxes are necessary? Would comments boxes cause chaos with a bunch of SM leaving crazy comments?

I think it would be nice if gyms had comment boxes, but part of me thinks it would cause SM to go insane and leave a bunch of crazy notes, do you guys think owners want to hear parents comments? Of course I don't think the comment box should be used for parents to complain about team placements and where Suzie is on the routine, I think it should be used more for comments on how to improve the gym. A good comment I think would be "Could our kids please use more affordable practice wear" maybe the owners assume all parents want their kids blinged out from head to toe with their $200 practice wear but in reality most parents don't want this, I think most parents are afraid/uncomfortable to voice their concerns so if they had a way to do it more privately I think more parents would be speak up.

That would be a really awesome idea. Lots of potential for abuse, but still an awesome idea.

Totally agree that it could get abused but I think it would do more good than harm.
Most business that have customers have comment boxes or something like it so why no cheer gyms [emoji4]

Our gym doesn't have a comment box that I am aware of. The send out a survey via email at the end of each season. It is supposed to be anonymous, but I'm not so sure it is, so I ignore it. I've found out the hard way that no matter how constructive you try to make your criticism, it often isn't taken that way and is held against you.

That's exactly why I think it would be nice to have a way to share our concerns us customers to the owners privately, I would love to bring up the concern I have with CP's practice wear price but I'm hesitant to bring it up publicly:(

Agreed, but even a comment box isn't private. Unfortunately there is always someone who will see you put something in there and run to a coach/owner/other parent to let them know that you were the one who put something in the box.

True but I think for gyms that don't have boxes people are going to be leaving comments left and right at first so it might be hard to tell where the comments are coming from.
To tell you the truth I'm not sure why I'm hesitant to bring up concerns to our owner, the owner is very kind and I've never seen him behave in a way that I should be worried to voice my opinion, I think sometimes other parents are side eyeing when someone has a concern that they don't have. Perfect example would be when we had a Team mom meeting with owner to go over our duties, a few team moms asked if they could do cheer sisters, well one mom spoke up and said she didn't think it was a good idea and the rest of the mamas gave the poor woman the death stare!
I feel like we need a way to voice are concerns with this industry but it seems like there isn't much we can do besides keep signing those checks...

Maybe it is just me, but I really do not care what someone think of me voicing my opinions or concerns, you have every right to do this... I am a strong believer that if you are writing and signing those checks to a business, this business should have an invested interest in your opinions or concerns... Maybe I just look at the world with rose color glasses...

Or they could just watch the cameras back and see who left the comments. Lol

I think that it would be an awesome idea! But then there is the potential to misuse them.

We have open and direct communication so a comment box would be unnecessary. There's no situation that would be off limits to talk about with me. Want to talk about your kids spot in the routine? Come on in I have an hour! I love to talk with you about your kids and how they're doing. Have a problem with the schedule? Let me know! My job is to take things that affect our families into consideration.

If someone just can't bring themselves to talk to me about something then it's probably not important enough to them.

Our gym has one, but I've never actually used it.

This is how gym owners and coaches should feel. Unfortunately you are pretty much one of a kind!

Which is a shame. We are in a business that thrives on good customer service. You don't have to cater to Susie's mom (quite the opposite actually) but everyone deserves my time and attention.
