So I'm fairly new to basing, and I was just wondering if anyone ever experienced elbow pain from basing? I think it might be tendentious or tennis elbow but I'm not sure. Just wondering if anyone had similar experiences.

it's bearable when I'm basing since I'm only basing a prep and a lib for a few 8 counts, but after we finish our half time routine the pain is unbearable. and throughout the day when I'm doing nothing, i get stabs of pain, and when i try to grab something with my left arm it hurts a lot. Im hoping its not something worse than tendentious. Not from basing but I've had it from tumbling! I broke both my elbows and have screws in them so they're kind of already weak and last year I got tendinosis (tennis elbow.) The strap they make for it that goes on your forearm helped a TON, as did icing every night and taking time off tumbling. I took a few days off stunting (I back spot) and longer off tumbling since that bothered it more and is individual. I just dealt with the pain more with stunting since it affects my whole group's practice not just mine.
Does your pain last when you're not basing? When I had tennis elbow it hurt any time I straightened my arm or if I put weight on it at all (like picking up my backpack with that arm or leaning against it). If it's just when you're basing then you might've caught it early or it might be something else. If you have urgent care or somewhere quick of go there and have them check it out and let your coaches know that you're hurting. I'm definitely not a doctor so get it looked at, but in the meantime ibuprofen, icing, and rest are always the go to
