Hi their! I need advice..my daughter finally got the hang of a flip flop~messy but got it! Now to clean it up are their any things I could do at home to work with her? Is it mainly arm strength or core strength that helps with it? She just turned 6..thanks!! I have heard that it is as simple as doing push ups each nite and another parent said handstands would work..

Handstand snap downs work wonders, especially for young ones. Make sure she focuses on being tight and squeezing everything in it.
Otherwise, lots of core work! At that age, they need body awareness and as much control as possible.

When I was learning to do a BHS, I would do a handstand up against a wall and the snap-down part, I would try to push back and snap as hard and fast as I could.

Snap-down throw-backs are really helpful is you have a spare mattess or something sof to land on. Also handstands, supported by you, while your daughter shrugs her shoulders up and down. (Shruggings the best way to describe it, I guess). You shouldn't be holding her up, but making sure she doesn't fall out of her handstand, and that her positioning is proper. These are great for arm and ab strength, and my coach makes us do them all the time. Also the superman drill, while not specifically for BHS, is good for endurance and keeping the core tight.

If you need any more drills, just let me know!
