I am hoping someone can provide some help. My community Rec cheer director has left the program. If they can’t find someone to run the program we will lose it. I have a background in cheer but never starting a rec program. I have no idea where to even start. Any advice is appreciated!

Here are a few steps you can take:
1. Talk to friends about the program - if you know people with kids this is a great step. A lot of parents just want to find a fun activity for there kid and recreational cheer is great for that.
2. Figure out competition brand - varsity is a great brand, you should look into it, there are divisions for all ages and levels, so it would be easy to make a team
3. Make dates - then start planning dates, like tryout clinic this day, tryout this day, etc.
4. Advertise - advertise in your community, you would be surprised on how many people might want to do it!
