I'm glad you described "sitting in your jumps" my daughter has been trying to figure out how to do that for awhile. When I told her to point her butt towards the crowd she said oh yeah. Thanks!Really work on your hip flexer muscles, do leg lifts. Also work on your abs because they actually play a big part in getting your legs above level. One thing that really helped me was sitting in a straddle and just lift up your legs like youre doing a toe touch. Flexibility is important but not as important as you would think. Think less about opening your legs and more about sitting in your jumps , point your butt towards the crowd.
