I have a problem, I've been told that I have high jumps, but i want them higher! The next step is to hyper-extending them. Does anyone have helpful tips or stretches I can be doing too get them hyper-extended! Thankk you!:D

I bet @JulieP could tell ya ; ) lol! I'd need to see you do them to give you tips to make them better. The usual leg lifts and V snaps are really good for getting the extra core strength needed for hyper jumps. Step up your jump workout and you'll see progress.

Really work on your hip flexer muscles, do leg lifts. Also work on your abs because they actually play a big part in getting your legs above level. One thing that really helped me was sitting in a straddle and just lift up your legs like youre doing a toe touch. Flexibility is important but not as important as you would think. Think less about opening your legs and more about sitting in your jumps , point your butt towards the crowd.

as you can see in my picture. my toe touches are pretty damn up there haha :) my advice would to stretch left and right side splits. alot. overflat on both. stretch straddles too. an AMAZING stretch for toe touches is to have your legs on in a v (but no too far. say 90 degree angle) and have someone pull your arms while your stretching forward. also like @kickdblcj said abs hip flexers and leg lifts. hope i helped :)

Also the trick to hyper extending toe touches is to roll your hips under yourself. Ever notice how some people stand leaning back with their hips jutted forward? Just out your hips just like that while in the air, like you're doing a crunch, and it will lift your legs higher.

Thanks guys! And i have herd most of this stuff from @JulieP but its nice to hear from other athletes as well!

I'm glad you described "sitting in your jumps" my daughter has been trying to figure out how to do that for awhile. When I told her to point her butt towards the crowd she said oh yeah. Thanks!

haha I was trying to figure out a nice way of saying it. Everyone says to sit in your jumps but thats useless because most people have no idea how it feels to sit in their jumps. Sitting in a straddle (and I dont mean open up as wide as you can) and lifting up your legs like if you were doing a toe touch teaches you the feeling of sitting in your jumps.
