i base for allstar but I'm actually pretty small compared to everyone on my high school team. i've always had problems with extensions, i immediately start to toe or fall out of the stunt. i also feel like i don't completely trust my stunt group and i don't know why. all the girls on the team are going to extension easily but i struggle! i think I'm the worst flyer on the team :( also, i've hurt a lot of people! ive smacked my base in the face I've elbowed someone and more! someone please give me advice! i need to get a solid extension in two days for our game!
Honestly, if your extension is not hitting 9/10 times right now, I hope your coach pulls it for the game. With the added stress of the game, it likely won't hit. (Sorry if that sounds negative, it's not meant to be)
Secondly, if you're not trusting your stunt group, you'll have problems too. Without that trust, you'll always wonder in the back of your mind if it will hit, if they will catch you if it doesn't, etc. Get to know your group, work with them and get to the point where you trust them
If you're toeing, try pulling your toes to the top of your shoes when you stunt. It will also help squeeze your ankles and calves while you're in the air. Pull up through your core, stay hollow and stay locked out. Most times I see extensions falling, timing is off and the flyer can't lock out at least 1 leg, leading to falls.
How are your preps? If those are fine, your extensions may be more mental, or timing with your bases. Also, talk to your coach. What feedback are they giving you on your stunts? Listen to them and apply that feedback to your stunts
