Saw this video the other day, wanted to try it with my team but wondering if the forward fall is legal?

It depends on what set of rules you use in your organization. However, I hope that when you teach your athletes, you will have them start catching well above shoulder level so that the flyers head is being slowed down well before the ground and not ending up inverted...which is illegal in most sets of school/rec rules.
