Beyond Scared Straight is a show on A&E that takes teens that are heading down the wrong road and shows them what jail/prison is like. For example they steal, fight, are in gangs, tag, smoke and sell drugs, and on last nights episode there was a 16 year old boy who fights with weapons and does drugs and he claims jails nothing and he can handle it. Well after the reality check program and his encounter with the inmates, he decided that he was going to stay out of trouble and turn his life around by joining a competitive cheer team called High desert Cheer Spirit Athletics. The episode aired on Sept 15. I think its great that our sport can change many peoples lives no matter what there situation is. It just shows how positive our sport/cheerleading can be.
