Hello parents, I need feedback to see if what my Daughter is experiencing is normal. She is a JV cheerleader for a junior football league. She is a Flyer and is being dropped on a weekly basis. And when she's dropped, it is brutal, straight to her back on the floor because all three of her bases decided

Her bases will make zero attempt to catch her snd they watch her fall on her back. Needless to say, I'm worried and want to know if this many drops are normal for a flyer.

Depending on the types of stunts she’s doing drops are normal but can be scary. Her bases should be catching her as that is their job but sometimes there are difficult situate if maybe she buckles her knee or goes off the side it’s hard to catch. I think that you should see if it’s just lazy basing and if so talk to the coach about your concerns.

Tell her that she needs to talk to her coach and bases about the problem and also tell her to ask her based what she could do to help the bases not drop her. By the way I am a flyer on a senior level 2 competition team.

No flyer should be dropped hard regularly . Yes things happen but bases should do everything to catch her or make it less harsh! Regular falls means coaches don’t know what they are doing!!! Leave now!!
