Just like all of you girls, I LOVE cheerleading :P (duuh, right?)
It's my dream to go to worlds, but my mum isn't encouraging. When I told her she just said "ohh, you can just go and watch, it's the same atmosphere."
That crushed me! It's not the same. I'd much rather go out on the mat in front of everyone. If I don't get there in 8 years, I'll just go and watch.

But I feel like I should just give up because my mum doesn't seem to believe I can do it :(
I need some help to get all cheered up again!

Have you been cheering long? Maybe she simply doesn't comprehend the significance of World's. I just got on the FB last Feb and until then I had no clue whatsoever what a huge deal going to World's is. communication may be the key here, good luck.

Whenever someone doesn't believe in me I just prove them wrong and laugh in their face when it's over. You've got oodles of people here who support you!

Try to involve your Mom in the sport more. Show her some YouTube videos and share with her some of the exciting new things happening this year. Maybe take her to a competiton that you are not competing at just to watch and enjoy. It's hard not to get addicted to this sport so try a few thigns to open her eyes to what is out there. Best of luck!!!

honestly my parents have never ever shared the same love for the sport that i do, they laugh when i listen to cheer music, say im obsessive because i'll watch routines, make fun of me cause i have the fierceboard, its difficult yes but ive learned to deal with it instead i have the fierceboard which has helped me soooooooooo much this year as i cant cheer this year (due to it being my first year in university, expense, homework everything) the good thing is is that you have cheerleading, you have your teammates to get you by push you and help you excel and do your best, its always been a dream of mine to go to worlds and who knows maybe some day it can happen you never know what'll happen until you try it im sure you have a few years to push your skills so do it give it your all and remember your fierce family is always here ;)

my mom is a coach too, so its hard for me to relate. but show her how important to you it is...
