OT New Random Thread Pt. 3

I don't understand gyms that announce new teams they're adding to their program the next season, when tryouts haven't already happened and the current season isn't over yet. You don't actually even know what kids will show up to try outs...

We announced two new teams we will be forming next year, but each of them could've been formed this year, and we decided to wait a year and build up the skills. I did see a tweet today about new team that included division/team size. I was shocked they put that out there since there's no guarantee of enough kids walking in the door to fill it. But, I have the same thoughts as @CheerBank

ugh cars and animals - when they break they are so expensive to fix.
$8k for a 5 day visit to the horsey hospital - and that was just for fluids and monitoring :eek:

Oh wow.... a few years ago my mom's dog got really sick and for fluids and monitoring it was 3k for 3 days... they literally did nothing.
When I first got my new puppy in September I took him to the vet for EVERYTHING... literally everything super small and there was never anything wrong with him.. My bank account got sad and then I decided we only needed to go to the vet when he was really really really reeeaaallllyy sick. Last night he ate an entire bag of starburst jelly beans he found on the table when I was in the shower, and the day before he found about 1/3 of my vanilla bean frappachino on the coffee table... Google said he would be fine... lol. He's fine, but if it would have been when I first got him I probably would have taken him to the vet... Vets are expensive.

I have a question:
When I did high school cheer everyone always did gifts at our last practice before camp. The gifts ranged from cute stuff like candy and matching accessories for themed nights, to useful stuff like flip flops for showers or "shoe lace watches" for our cheer shoes (I know that sounds weird, but it's actually brilliant). So now that my little sister is in allstar and headed to the Summit, my mom wants to do something for them. We found custom sunglasses for a reasonable price (kind of like the ones BSB and BSW had last year) and we really love the idea. I've even made a few proofs of different options, and am awaiting official proofs from the company. My question is, these shades are for a junior team, with kids ranging in ages from like 8 to 14. Should I get sunglasses in children's sizes? Will the normal sized ones look weird on the little kids? I can't for the life of me remember what kids sunglasses are even like. I'm planning on seeking some out at Walmart to see how big they are, but I'm kind of torn.
ETA as long as I'm posting about it, maybe FB can help me choose which one is cutest: (forgive the horrid photoshop job)

Usually when gyms announce a new team for next year it's because they have enough or more than enough athletes with the skills to form the new team. Also most gym owners know if an athlete is going to return or not. If the kids been there for years chances are they aren't gonna up and change gyms.

Just returned from the BEST girls weekend ever. 12 of us went to NYC for a long weekend. We were all in the same sorority and graduated within one year of each other. Now we live and work all over (Charlotte, Atlanta, Boston, DC, Jacksonville, Columbia, Greenville...) I was so happy we could pull this trip off!

My husband and I are thinking of rescuing a second dog. Anyone have any advice? Our couch and house is big enough for two dogs, we will just have to reconfigure a room or two to make it two dog friendly.

Our current dog is afraid to go all the way up our stairs, and we only really have room for one dog cage (we crate train our dog) in the kitchen currently. My idea is to put the second dog upstairs in one of our spare bedrooms, in hopes this will help our current dog get over his fear of the stairs and to eventually have them both share a room. In my head this will isn't a bad idea, anyone feel differently? We have always been a one dog house, so this is a big change for us!

They handed out glasses like that for a basketball game at my school and I love them. Great gift idea!

My friend is on that team! Good luck, I ran for vice captain twice in my final year (the first girl to beat me wasn't eligible anymore as she's graduated) but I probably would have run for captain if I hadn't let my best friend run instead...

My younger brother is going to school for "theater production" and audio engineering so he wants to do things behind the scenes at concerts and plays. He's worked at the local theater in the summers and their only days off are Monday's and you don't have a lot of free time. He's also worked with a lot of bands (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Gym Class Heroes, Mayday Parade, and a lot more) through school gigs and those are long, long days. He loves it and is really good at what he does but I worry that it will be a difficult lifestyle to live as he grows up and wants to settle down. (Though to be honest, neither of us are the "settling down" types.)

Originally I wanted to be a sound engineer and tour with bands as a sound person before I chose graphic design. I'm now glad I didn't because I like my freedom and not being a slave to my job.

My best friend/almost boyfriend is an audio engineer and is majoring in Entertainment and Theater Production! This April he's working with bands (probably Slipknot and Slayer) at Welcome to Rockville here in Jacksonville! His brother is the tour manager/back up drummer for Limp Bizkit and he rarely sees him because he's always doing something.

I think that sounds good! We have had two dogs for a few years. When we first introduced the puppy to the older one we had to have them keep a little distance because one was so much older/more assertive than the puppy. After a few days they followed eachother everywhere! The puppy (well, not a puppy anymore lol) is afraid to do a lot of things, but he'll usually do whatever if the older dog is doing it!
