I've seen that there's lots of threads on these, and I've spent quite a while reading them all, but couldn't exactly find the answer I wanted.
Basically, are they worth it? I currently cheer on a level 3 team but I just wear standard indoor trainers- not specific for cheer or anything. I've only been doing it a few months but I really want to improve and I'm hoping to try out for one of the lower level squads at the big teams in the UK this September.
I realise I should probably invest in some proper cheer shoes, because the ones I currently have don't give much support for anything. I want a shoe that's going to last me at least for the next year (until Sept '13 roughly). However, I don't want to go and buy a cheap/mid-price cheer shoe only to find that (if all goes to plan and my tumbling and stunting improve) I need a better shoe in a few months.
I've heard lots of good things about Nfinitys but I'm not sure if they're worth the £65 and if they are worth it which ones to go for.
I fly and base at the minute (as well as filling in for back/front spots) but flying's what I really want to concentrate on and I'm really working on improving my tumbling at the minute.
Has anyone got any advice?
Thanks!

I think they are worth it!! You just have to treat them with care, and never wear them anywhere but the gym. They will last if you treat them right.

Thanks for that, the UK supplier do Evolution and Phoenix for £65 or Vengeance for £75, do you have any recommendations?

I love both my Evolutions and my Vengeances! Evolutions are great and sturdy, while still being very light for tumbling. The Vengeances are just like tumbling barefoot and great if you don't mind paying more for them than the others, plus depending on how many days a week you wear them, they might not last until September of next year.

I've heard the Vengeances fall apart easily, so if you're looking for a long lasting pair they may not be ideal.

The evolutions will not last you a season. You'll be lucky if they don't start ripping. I have had no problems with the Phoenixes. They give a little more support than the Evolutions and Vengeances and they actually lasted me 2 seasons.

Hmm, everyone seems to have their own preferences! I'm not sure how much I like the look of the Vengeance- especially the semi-see-through mesh. But then again that's the least important thing.
I have pretty weak ankles (old sprains that I didn't give enough time to heal...) so if the Phoenixes have more ankle support then maybe I should go with those.
Although I have heard lots of people in love with Evolutions and not so much with Phoenix... Might just flip a coin!

If you have weak ankles don't go with the vengeances then. They don't have much support for you ankles at all.

Looking at a picture on the website I'm planning on buying them from, the Evolution looks like it gives a lot more support- it seems sturdier and comes further up on the ankle, is this right?

Also, how are the sizings? I'm usually around 3.5/4 UK size (which I think is 6/6.5 US), but the website only does US 6 or US 7. I think I've read that they can come up a bit small- is this true of all the styles?

Yeah they are a little bit small. I usually wear an 8 and I wear an 8.5 in nfinities.

Yes, it is true that they generally run a bit small. Ordering half a size up should be fine!

Do they still sell phoenixes? I thought they didnt anymore!
I think Nfinity have stopped making them but the UK store still has some in stock :) Would you recommend them then?

None of them provide much ankle support. If you really want nfinity, go with the phoenix or evos and do lots of ankle exercises.
