National School Spirit Day was Friday, September 7, 2012! In its fourth year teams from across the country were volunteering in their communities and schools. Some teams even mobilized their schools to get involved on this day of service and spirit!
Forty members of the Creekview cheer team met bright and early on Saturday morning, September 8th at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas to volunteer at the annual Heart Association Heart Walk. The team cheered on the runners at the beginning and end of the race. One of the team members became “Chester Cheetah”, since one of the main corporate sponsors was Frito-Lay. They had a great time representing their school and team!

They didn’t stop there, in addition to the cheerleaders participation at the Heart Walk, they mobilized the Student Council, National Honor Society and the Key Club. In addition to the 40 cheerleaders, there were 60 other Creekview student volunteers from these other organizations who volunteered in many areas from manning the children’s areas, to passing out water, to trash pick-up.
If you haven’t pledged your hours yet, you still have time! Pledge your hours before September 14, 2012 and your team or school will be entered to win a Varsity Spirit Prize Pack! Read more National School Spirit Day Stories here.
