I proudly wear a bow in my hair each and every day in honor of you. I don't care if I look weird wearing my bow. It's to show my support for you Alyssa.

Thanks to all the fierce boarders who have sent bows and joined the Stay Strong Alyssa Facebook pages. There is now a website to visit to provide support.

Alyssa is a 14 year old cheerleader who cheered on Outlaw All-Stars in Western New York and had previously cheered at Buffalo Envy. She was struck by a van on 5/12/2011 and is currently in serious condition. Although her condition was upgraded to serious, she remains gravely injured having suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of the accident.

She needs your thoughts prayers and support more than ever now. Her friends and family from both teams are actively planning a benefit and using whatever means we can to raise funds to assist the family with what is sure to be a very lengthy hospital stay.

We've had support from many businesses;
Yella Ribbon has a special line of Alyssa bows with proceeds going to her family and You Go Girl Cheer Bowz has also designed a special Stay Strong bow to benefit the family.

Please visit her website to learn more about Alyssa and her fight!

There is nothing like the cheer community when it comes to banding together to support each other! Thanks again for all you have done!

I know many of you probably keep up with this young girls struggle via the facebook page, but for those of you who don't, there is a competition at the moment to help win the family an adapted mini van to transport Alyssa. It took quite a long time to get her home from the hospital and her medical insurance will only pay for transport for one therapy visit a week, the family need to find a way to get her there on the other days. This mini van will revolutionize Alyssa's care.

She is currently in 1st place but there is not much between her and 2/3 places. Please go to www.nmeda.com/mobility-awareness-month/heroes/new-york/west-seneca/598/alyssa-loschiavo and vote for her, you can only vote once a day but you can vote more than one time :)
