I was at the gym and we had no idea anything was going on. How do people outside the gym find things out before the ones inside it? I will never understand

Because people "in the know" talk. That's usually how it happens.

But what was the point of posting the "already failing" part? Was it necessary?

Whether it's true or not is, frankly, irrelevant.

The request could have been made for verification without the editorial comment.
