I'm so overwhelmed, everyone seems to be a level 5. I started competitive cheerleading only a month ago, so I have zero tumbling experience. I cheered on my high school team for two years, but when tryouts came around I didn't make the cut for varsity. I'm a beast at stunting, and motions, but having so much trouble with jumps, tumbling, and flexibility.
At my high school team, I thought I was super flexible because I had my spilts, and no one else did. Now all three are expected, and other flexibilty like shoulders and back which I never knew could be stretched out!
I cannot even do a backbend/bridge because my flexibility in my back is so dreadful. I would love pointers on how to get on track to become level 5 material :),
Even though I'm 16, and only have one more season after this one, I want to learn as much as I can.

To get stronger for tumbling, condition condition condition! For your back, do the seal stretch(lie on your stomach with your hands by your chest and push up) until you can do a bridge. Once you get your bridge, do that and rock back and forth. Shoulders, sit on your butt and slide your arms back behind you, then straighten your legs pointing your toes toward the sky and try to make your face touch your knees. And don't worry, not everyone is level 5!
