High School Separate JV and Varsity Practices?

High School Head Coach here
Im wondering what other coaches are doing for practice days/times with their JV and Varsity?
Both our JV and Varsity compete and they need all the mat time possible.

Last year we did monday-friday everyone together, but every other day JV or Varsity would be released early so the other team could have full mat time.

Whats everyone else doing?

My school did tuesdays and thursdays for JV and Varsity game day (both shared the mat) tuesdays JV would have study hall while varsity practiced for a bit, then dismiss varsity then JV would practice. Thursday varsity would have study hall, then JV has the mat till their practice time. then a year later we just had separate times. Monday Wednesday for one team, Tuesday Thursday for another so they had alot more time. Study hall was pretty beneficial since our coach wanted us to be on top of our grades, and its just efficient yk?
