It seems like more teams are doing the social media blackout.
Members from CEA Smoex from Raleigh location have posted that they are on a social media blackout also until after worlds.
Thoughts?

I think a blackout means stop using social media - not, go online and tell everyone you are on a blackout...

Cali are doing the same thing and I've seen post from their worlds athletes and coaches. If they're going to do a black out then it should be a proper black out

for cali... blackout = post nothing about cheer (i think)

Just my opinion but not going on Twitter or instagram isn't going to change whether or not you hit your routine. What matters is what you do in practice and how determined your team is. I understand it's about limiting distractions but unless you have kids taking selfies during full outs, I don't see it impacting how hard a team will practice.

I have no idea whether this is factual or speculative, but the way it was presented to me was that the team decided to blackout. Small Sr and Cougars (same gym) aren't blacking out.
So maybe (here's hoping) the team sees how distracting the constant refresh "pop" of twitter can be, the negativity, the time wasted, etc., and they wanted to give their Worlds prep time every possible chance.
