this morning in practice we were warming up our tumbling, we start by doing forward rolls across the small mats then cartwheels then running cartwheels then lunge round offs and then running roundoff and add your pass to the round off. Well theres this one girl on my team who can not do a cartwheel. its not a big deal or anything but we were all doing our cartwheels and our coach made us repeat them 3 times until everyone was doing them.(she was the only one not doing them) Well she refused and said she can't do them. So my coach said ok then do some rolls across the mat and she flat out said no. so my coach was like ok then you can leave or do them. and you better think twice about leaving. so she left. now we're without one of our bases and one stunt group is rather weak with the alternate base in. IDK how to handle this. and my coach is thinking about letting her come back... how would I deal with such an ignorant person if she does come back and how do i deal without her being there. As a senior captain i am very frustrated.

I wouldn't be freaking about this quite yet.. it just happened today so I'm sure your coaches will have some sort of solution by your next practice.

Give it some time. There's nothing worse for a team than a person with a bad attitude or somebody that doesnt want to be there, no matter how skilled they are. They end up dragging down the morale of the entire team, so while it may be hard at first to make up for the loss of a skilled person, in the long run it is so much better for the team. Keep working with stunt groups, don't get frustrated, and encourage teammates that now is the time to step up and shine!

to be honest i can understand why she would leave for the longest time i was one of the girls that couldnt do cartwheels and it was rather embarrassing for me to not know how to cartwheel while all the other girls on my level 3 team could, also the coach having her to forward rolls while everybody else does something harder is another major embarrassment understandably this could not be the case here just trying to show another side of things

just play it out as it goes try not to let it bug you and work that much harder, coaches prefer athletes that can shrug things off rather then holding a grudge and alienating people

i get what you're saying, but there's another girl on my team that couldn't do a cartwheel at the beginning of the season at alll and she worked at it everyday and has it. if you practice it'll come.

true :) im just letting some insight cause some people dont generally think about the other side of things, not like i think walking out of the gym is any way to handle things im just sayin' ;) and hey if you need an alternate im down haha jokes

but i hope everything works out with your gym and just ignore the sass and arrogance of others :)
