How often would you recommend a flyer with limited flexibility (i.e. no scorpion, poor heel stretch, no overstretch, etc) . Is there such thing as stretching too much. What do you guys think?

I was told by a professional that it does no good to stretch more than 45 seconds. So I would say stretch everyday and only hold each stretch for 45 seconds then move to next stretch. And omgitssydthekid is right no pain no gain :) Try doing it after a hot bath or after a 15 minute warm up. The heat will allow you to stretch more. Good Luck!

^^ thats true. holding things for less that 30-45 sec will not improve your flexibility, it will keep u at your current range. holding for about 1 minute will help you start to increase your flexibility. holding longer than 1 minute doesnt really do anything

there is strecthing too much but that should not happen eve. Im a flyer and I personally stretch every single day for atleast 60 min and take a break half way through

Everyday! And don't stretch as a "warm up". Warm up your muscles (light jog maybe to get the blood flowing) before you stretch, and sometimes it could be a bit more beneficial to stretch AFTER you practice. DO NOT BOUNCE! Hold the stretch solid for about 45secs to 1min.

Before I started flying, I had no flexibility on my left leg. I stretched everyday for maybe half an hour a day, for like two or three months. After just a little bit of time I got my flexibility up reaaally good, and by just a year later people had me nicknamed Gumby ;D

Also, make sure you focus on basic stretches, like straddle stretches and stuff. Cause you won't get your splits perfect or ANYTHING if you can't do the basics
