So, I was just told they have run out of some of the awards they give out to finalists (just like they did last year well before the event was over). This year, they have run out Day 2 of a 4 day event after only doing probably less than 25% of the divisions.
Last year was the first year in over a decade that someone "beat" Worlds for the title of worst-run event of our season. (D1 Summit 2018). Worlds has made that a tough competition this year, but Summit could still pull it off.
I have said it before, but the marketing and business strategy behind Summit is absolutely brilliant in nearly every way. It has made their company untold millions and driven most of their event competitors out of business. However, the execution of the event lags FAR behind the concept of it - particularly last year.
