MADELINE
An athlete from ACE of Atlanta's Thunderbirds found a tumor on her brain stem on Monday. She has been in the hospital since and received emergency surgery on Wednesday to remove the tumor. The surgery lasted over 6 hours, but the initial prognosis was great! She still has a long road of recovery ahead of her and the pain is still very intense. Today, they began to run tests and scans to ensure that they have removed everything and a biopsy will be done to determine future treatments.
The support for Madeline and her family has been nothing short of AMAZING! Through a combination of social networking, prayer, love, compassion and the bond of the ACE family Madeline's circle of support has grown beyond all expectations! She has seen the overwhelming amount of support on Facebook and Twitter as well as the gifts and cards she has received at the hospital and has been speechless when thinking of the number of people who have cared for her this week.
ACE will be setting up a fund to help the McTier Family with medical bills during this long and trying process. We will be taking donations and returning our thanks to you with a PINK shirt that is a symbol of the amount of love the Thunderbird team has for one another and the appreciation they want to show to all that have been with them throughtout this difficult time.
