The One is a second year competition similar to US FINALS but is on the Varsity score sheet. US FINALS, the top 5 of every division receive a bid. To get a bid to The One, you have to win your division at select bid competitions. This year there are three locations - VA Beach, Chicago and New Orleans

Thanks. This is what I was looking for. It didn't exist in the stone age when I cheered. :) My neighbor was asking about it, her daughter's dance team got a bid.

This is the third season for THE ONE. My youth 1 is going to the Chicago competition. Like someone else mentioned, you have to place first in your division at a bid event to earn a bid. At the actual competition, you compete against the teams in your division at your location, winners there get jackets and move on to the virtual finals. They put together a big webcast where they broadcast the virtual finals. Winners from each location are re-judged by the judging panels from all locations, using videos from your higher scoring performance. Virtual final winners get rings.

Us finals is still us finals, I believe that all levels ended in 2012 and summit took place of all levels (not positive though)
