I guess it depends on the reason you want to switch gyms? If your gym isn't a good fit program or coach wise, you should definitely look around at your options and see if you can find a place that better suits and challenges you.

Known gyms become know with years of building a strong program with competitive teams and a great coaching staff.

We travel 2.5 to 3 hours one way to be where we belong! So you it is up to you:)

My first question would be, "Is traveling to a gym even possible?" You would need strong parental support and/or your own car.

I went thru this a little with CP as her rec team was imploding in drama. I considered traveling with her to a rec program about an hour away, but she and I both agreed that in the end, it wasn't worth it.

She is now involved with an All Star gym nearby, but the commute varies from 25 min to 45 min depending on practice time. We're lucky to have a great group to carpool with, so each parent only needs to drive 1 time per week.

Our program is only in its 3rd year, but we've put out some great performances, and we're getting noticed. I was talking with one of the owners last week, and she told me that after a great weekend at a large event, she had several people approach her and ask when our evals were.
