Why does the USASF require background checks? Requiring background checks is the right and responsible thing to do, and aligns All Star with the requirements of other youth sports, school systems and companies...

Well isn't that a loaded question, lol.

While we are on topic of things we don't know, I know I am not the only one who thinks rules for a season should be set and announced by a specific date, May 15 as an example, for the following season. Changes being announced in June, July, or August which is after teams are formed is crazy.

I don't know about May. Around here, teams are very fluid through August and really aren't set until then. Late summer/early fall seems to make more sense.

IMO that is too late. Other sports I have been involved in all have rules set much earlier.
