No, open teams can get paid bids. But EPs can choose to give or not give bids to whomever they want, so most of them don't give paid bids to open teams, particularly level 6. IO5 is eligible for paid bids more often than level 6.
T&S apparently got an AL bid but turned it down. They were going for the paid bid at one of the few events that offers them to level 6 teams.

Did we EVER get an official word on what were the major deductions that SE and CE got at Majors? Much like the CEA Expansion thread, there was about 15 pages of speculation but we never got an official yes/no...

anyone else find it extremely odd that genesis didnt accept the at large? :confused: i mean if you KNOW its your only chance to get a bid (and it sounds like they did), isnt that better than not going at all? im really shocked/confused here :confused:

What about senior teams? If we have 4.2, why can't they add that? I don't know. Just my opinion.

My previous gym never seemed to accept that you can be an amazing cheerleader without being an amazing tumbler but 4.2 didn't exist back when I did all-star, and it would get tough when I wanted to learn more than a pre-level lib. :-/ That's all!

I understand, but don't sell level 2 so short. There are some absolutely amazing teams out there. And prep level is harder than extended in my opinion ;)
