They boo everyone anyways... :rolleyes:Double post. But the US women 4x100 relay team is through to the finals after placing the top time in their rerun. Happy for them, but uh, the Brazilian crowd is gonna be pissed lol
I still can't believe they booed the guy from France who got 2nd in pole vault as he was getting his medal. That was just wrong. They boo everyone anyways...
Neither did any of the three 100m hurdle girls. In fact, I haven't seen anyone from the US today put their hand over their heart. WOW WHAT TERRIBLE PEOPLE. :rolleyes:The two American men that won gold and silver in the shot put didn't put their hand over their hearts during the National Anthem [emoji849] hope they don't face outrage [emoji19][emoji849]

I think the difference is that Gabby is a gymnast and the gymnasts (like the skaters at the winter games) are "princesses". Hence they are held to a higher standard. Everyone else is pretty much a "jock".
Eta: I'm not saying the different expectations/higher standard are ok...just saying I think this is a large part of what happens.
yo this is not gossip @quitthedrama ;)
Lol :) indeed ;)Actually it wasn't my fault at all. I was held up at gunpoint by some fierceboard trolls and forced to press the gossip button. THEY WERE THREATENING ME WITH A GUN!!!!
#flashbackfriday #lol:)
I definitely agree with this statement 10,000 shimmies...Had Gabby was not in the back of all of the Final 5, all crossing their hearts, she will not had stuck out like a "sore thumb." Furthermore, the fact that all the athletes that first week were crossing their hearts too, I actually thought that an USOC memorandum had been issued telling the athletes about the flag salute protocol and Gabby just did not get that memorandum and Aly, (Cap'n) failed in someway...:wham:To add to this, if it were Gabby on the podium alone it likely wouldn't have stuck out as badly as it did. She was up there with a group of 5 and she was the single person, out of the 5 who didn't do it. So not only did she not do it, now everyone has this picture where she's the 'oddball' as further proof of the hatred they may have already had for it.
It's still absolutely ridiculous.
I definitely don't think this is why Gabby was criticized, or why she is held to a higher standard.I think the difference is that Gabby is a gymnast and the gymnasts (like the skaters at the winter games) are "princesses". Feigen payed a hefty fine/donation thing to get to leave the country (around 11k I think) and I feel certain US Swimming will suspend them all. Lochte and Feigen probably more so. I know Phelps was suspended 6 months in 2014 for a second DUI, and I would expect something similar or longer.Lochte issued an apology; it can be read here...

Frankly, nothing he says is going to make him forgivable in my eyes and I sincerely hope that they are punished in some way.
