Our gym is new and so we started our cheer season in August and didn't compete until December. This year, our season will end in Indy at U.S. Finals, tryouts the following week and then startup again in May. Is that too short of a break for parents and their pockets?

Our tuition payments run August thru May ;) There are camps, extra tumbling, etc. available in the summer, but it's a much lighter commitment.

I think we had choreo in late Aug/early Sept which kicked off the year. First comp of the season was in November.

We begin in May. Season ends at end of March. One week off, two weeks of tryouts, one week off, new season starts.

Ours begins in May and ends mid April, unless your team goes to Worlds/Summit. Last year, cp's off season was 3 days.

April-May then May-April=NONSTOP:D

Last comp is US finals which is 1st weekend in May this year. Practices are still held as usual (tumbling/skills primarily). Tryouts are week before Memorial day and results come out the day after Memorial Day!.

We have tryouts in May, start practices the first week of June, compete in December and finish mid-April. Then it starts all over again.

Season ends first week in May. Gym does skill classes for about a month and then has tryouts. Practices typically begin right after July 4th weekend.

That seems pretty typical! We have our last comp (us finals) mid April and tryouts are usually end of April. We begin practicing pretty soon after tryouts, but they're less often than regular season and typically the whole team isn't there. Summer we work on skills for the routine a lot, then get choreo in August/September, and then it's go time with our first comp in November/December!

Tryout's in May and we go until end of April.

Our tuition responsibility is also May to April.

I think my CP might have taken off 6 day's after world's. Then she was back in the gym on Monday for tumbling and getting ready for tryout's again.

Our season ends in mid-May and tryouts are a week after. We start up again at the beginning of June. So we have about 2 weeks off and run a full year. This year our competition season ends early in April and the rest of April and May will be spent on working on current level skills and getting ready for the next level and prepping for tryouts.

We are a 12 month program. This was CP's first year. Tryouts were in April, first practice was in May, first comp was in November and then we finish with NCA. After that, the practice schedule returns to the normal two days a week and the athletes work on skills until tryouts.

Our gym is May to April as well. It's a much lighter practice schedule in the summer months though. And they are allowed 3 weeks vacation (excused from practice) during the summer.
