Visalia!!! That sucked. It was in the middle of nowhere and freezing! Plus we hit the Tule fog coming home and I've never been so scared in my life.

There is some rule re Worlds bids and how far a competition can move in a given year. I am guessing it was a combination of the distance needed/required/allowed (so they could get to LA the following year) and $. I'm thinking Visalia was probably quite the bargain compared to Fresno.
