Their is one flyer on cp's team for what ever can't stay up (fall's 90%) of the time. She has flown for years (been great), for some reason this year isn't her year. It may be her it may be her bases, I can't say. It's painful to watch her fall so many times, plus the risk of her getting hurt. During the routine the bases do change and I believe said flyer still has the same issues, can't say for a 100%(more so with one particular part - group). Has a coach at what point would you change things, how many months would you let this go on? Has a parent how much could you take of watching your 9yr old fall time after time. My cp (8yrs) flies and had her falls, I just don't know at what point I would just freak and say screw the contract, burn my bridges etc.., I understand the risk.

My best piece of advice is that if its not your kid or a relative then I would stay out of it. This is a delicate situation and your genuine concern can be twisted and used against you.

The girl could be experiencing a growth spurt. When that happened to my daughter her flying skills were inconsistent.

Sometimes without dissolving the stunt group, there is no other option. I had this issue with a flyer who wasn't the best (basically a noodle in the air) but because of her size, she HAD to fly unless I wanted to put front spots on all the groups and put kids nuggeting in the back. I was able to keep her in the air with a simplified stunt and a good strong front spot, it just wasn't 100% consistent or super pretty looking.

Also, it is still early in the season so the coach may be going on her past history of being a flyer and hoping that she'll figure out before nationals.

wait.. are you a coach of this team, or just a parent and your cp is on the team?
Just a parent, I was just wondering what other coaches would do or even how a parent would feel if it was their child. At what point does someone decide it's not going to work, days, weeks or months (it's been months). No, I don't plan on taking it up with the coach or anything, it's not my cp. Yes, it's the chatter among the parents: I, often of the time have to hear one of that cp's family members tell me over and over her cp needs my cp's bases. Thus I start to feel guilty, like my cp has taken something from their cp. Then I feel guilty, thinking what if it is the bases they switch my cp to that spot and she starts to fall all the time and better someone else child then thoughts come to mind and I feel bad. I felt a bit guilty last year, we joined the team a few months late before camp (just doing tumbling classes, someone dropped and thus we where asked). Thus when cp joined she bumped one girl from a stunt spot, from what I heard that mother was like "they didn't give her cp enough time" and the feeling guilty part to over a bit. The bottom line when you (has a coach or parent) look past the trying to get stunt to work and to the welfare of the child?

Great question..I watch a flyer fall the entire season in every practice, even when 3 coaches based her during practices she still falls. At what point and when as a coach do you say ok this is not working, you need stunt classes or we will need to ground you?

You as a parent need to let the coach do their job, if you can't trust the coach do their job then you need to go to another gym.

How do you know they haven't had stunt privates? How do you know they haven't had a meeting?

They do privates all the time, I know the mother has talked to the coach.

Did I once state in my post that I was going to go to the coach about this issue (interfere with their job)? NO! I am one of less dramatic parents and let me tell you it's been a year for drama (at times I feel like I am in a reality show, watching it live gee much better then 3-D). I simply was wondering what experiences others had or input. We've already had one girl (whom had been doing it for years) leave the team due to a head injury (simple and she is fine now). Has for going to another gym, it's a small gym in a small rural part of the world, not a lot of options and no options when rumor has it they close.

was trying to reply with tablet, last night didnt work so well..

She did take stunt classes last summer.....then stopped. I did switch gyms (not for this reason) and she is now at our new gym as well, flying again and falling...she gets yelled at a lot. I know for a fact at the previous gym anytime a coach talked to her she would cry and parents would be all up in the coaches faces for making her cry. We shall see how far this goes this season at new gym.
