Is there anywhere to report this type of behavior from organizations?? We moved from a organization over a year ago, however, they refuse to leave my family alone whether it's by spreading false rumors about my daughter, posting videos in which you can see them pointing out my cp and calling out her name and sending her text messages!! After such a bad experience while at this gym and quitting cheer for a year my cp has returned to cheer this season and it is starting once again with her old gym and the owner is well aware of the actions of her athletes, parents and coaches! We got past the video posting from this past weekend and now she gets to school this morning only having to deal with a controversial text from one of this gyms athletes. If you all have any advice on how to deal with this type of behavior I would greatly appreciate it as my daughter is finally loving cheer again and I don't want anyone ruining it for her!

I would see if you can change her number, delete any harassers from Facebook twitter etc. and make it all private so they can't bother you. I think you also block people from messaging you. Then the best thing to do is just ignore the rest. You can try calling the gym owners but other than that there really isn't a whole lot you can do unless her safety is being threatened. just take the steps to make sure she isn't going to see or receive a lot of it.

..I would think the 'out-of-activity' bullying and harassment of a minor, particularly when you have texts/video to prove it (the utter morons- when you do stupid things YOU DON'T FILM THE PROOF), would warrant a visit to the police, don't you? Especially when it's interfering with her school life? It's not like they can't trace where the texts are coming from, especially if the idiots aren't being shy about announcing who they are.

Screen-shot texts, save the video files if you can (if you don't know how, google). If there are postings on her facebook, screenshot them as well. Most states have anti-bullying laws, but bring it to the police and see what they say.

The videos were posted by cheerupdates who I guess is associated with some people from the gym. A friend of mine made a phone called to try and resolve the situation and the video is now removed from the fierceboard and youtube. I thought that would be the end until my daughter got a text this morning from an athlete from this gym about the video and the comments that were made. My daughter has a habit of deleting things but I had her to immediately email me the text and we have started a file to keep track of these things. I know there are laws and I want to move in the right direction and that's why I am seeking advice. We often talk about bullying but it happens in our own community and it is very disturbing!!

Let the owner, kids, coaches, and parents know, calmly and nicely in a certified mail letter, that you will be documenting and taking screen shots of everything that is sent to or posted about your child going forward. Tell them this includes video postings including your child, text messages, emails, Tweets, FB postings, or pictures. Then let them know if it doesn't cease immediately you are willing to take whatever legal or media action necessary to protect your child. Hopefully, you and your child have not responded to any of the texts or social media that has been sent in the past, and definitely do not respond to any of it going forward.

wait, CheerUpdates posted a video of that? Was it a video of something else primarily, and that was just caught in the footage, or did they blatantly post that video for "bullying/harassment" purposes??

I can tell you that cheerupdates was involved last year with posting some false rumors about my daughter on this board and it was the same rumors that was coming from this gym. So the fact that he was in the same proximity of these parents, coaches and athletes this weekend makes me question all of their intentions!! However, the video was of my cp's team performing this weekend and you could see parents, athletes, coaches, etc. pointing to locate my daughter in the routine, calling her name and talking about what skills she was or was not doing.

In addition, my family does not know cheerupdates so his involvement with the situation last year puzzled me!!

This is a good idea!! I agree with the idea of not responding. Me and my daughter's initial response last year was to fight back on social media and let the world know what this gym was doing, especially, since it was affecting her in school, which she is an honor student. However, that is normally not my personality. I was hoping since she took a year off it would be a fresh start and long and behold here they come again!!!

This is just my opinion, but cheerupdates seems like a very sad ADULT who wants to act like a teenage girl, feeding off of drama and constantly sticking their nose where it shouldn't be. Anything to make them feel more powerful...

Whoops, did I say that out loud?

They've blocked me on twitter. The only reason I can think of is because I posted on here (when Ashley created the road to worlds page) that I felt guilty looking at the cheerupdates site. I've never spoken to him, tweeted at him or really had any conversation with him ever...so that's my only guess! Haha

my gym has similar bullying problems happening with another gym in our area. the coaches need to talk to the girls and let them know that this behavior is not acceptable. the sport should not be ruined for anyone especially by their own teammates. acting this way is embarrassing their gym and themselves. and they need to understand that.

I would just call the gym out. Start posting everything that they have done to you. haha That's just me, though.

Lol, I tend to be more on the quiet and reserved side most of the time. Somehow, that's why I believe my family has been the easier target. Although, I can get crazy at times I am trying to be smart about this thing, haha!!

Remember on social media what you post is your responsibility and liability.
