OMG I am having a SUPER MEGA PARTY at the best place ever....only I haven't picked it out yet. I am inviting only the coolest people...Regina George is coming, so of course Gretchen Weiners and Karen Smith are coming too which means anyone who is anybody is coming.... but you can only come if you are invited and you don't really need to RSVP because we are not exactly sure of the place or date or even why this party is going to be so very special but tomorrow I will announce what cool person is invited next. Isn't this exciting?

the actual comp. is like an entire season away, i never understood why they tried to create so much hype for something when it was this early in the season. eventually people will completely forget about it, until maybe a month before it happens again..

When you start adding details and ideas to your original idea and the idea grows too large to realistically launch. Very common in software. An example is:

Let's do a competition with just invited past champions. Oh lets add teams that are recent champions. Lets make it 2 days instead of 1. Wait lets make it 3. Lets add juniors. Lets add level 4, thats basically level 5.

It's not that the ideas are bad, its that to launch you need a concentrated core of a good idea you know you can execute well to start THEN add more ideas.

As a developer, I will always shimmy anyone who can identify scope creep. :)

A little tardy to the party, but I was away on vacation. It's the bane of a software engineer's existence. You give the customer a deadline by when you should have their work done, and then they keep emailing you asking for new features. And then get mad when you don't make the deadline.

In regards to J5, there might be less of them but the percentage of quality, competitive teams is much greater than essentially any other level/age group.

i just saw one too! i hope not, there was a possible 5 hour drive just to PA, definitely can't make it to ATL (if i dont have practice that is)
