I wish that they would include J5 in the Champions League. J5 does not have Worlds as there big competition anymore. Maybe the Champions League could be the battle of J5?!?!

I am curious to know how many J5 teams there are. Does anybody know or have a list?

I definitely do not know that. But if the number is small, what a great way for those kids to take center stage. Around here, junior L5 is a real rarity because (if age eligible) they're just put on SrR5 or Sr5 and the rest stay on J4. Not enough to have both.

I would say the only reason this is a bad idea is because of 'Scope Creep'. I think a lot of the pieces of Champions League are good, but I think a lot of them have not been figured out yet. We aren't looking at a mature idea. That isn't an insult, that is just what it is. On the front end the media release is pretty cool, but I am not sure we even have the back end figured out. What makes this different than any other competition except makeup of teams? A wildly new unproven scoresheet? The location isn't even set yet.

I think the central idea, historically great teams must be invited to compete, is a great one. Now if they spend enough time and energy and come up with a solid business plan on how to make it work this could be fantastic!

My recommendations (which are very boring and ones you don't announce on social media but are more what allows the competition to actually work):

1. Start a small non-profit to run it. This is in charge of securing venue, hiring (and JUST as important firing) staff, enforcing rules, running the competition, all the details of the comp itself.

2. Have a strong computer information system to track all details of the competition and make them open. Information is more important in cheerleading than anything else.

3. Be organized! people are attracted to organization. They might give anything a shot once but will not return to something that is unorganized.

4. Have a business plan. This has to make money so it can exist. Define your market, how it will make money so it can be run next year. Unless we have a billionaire who is putting this on for the heck of it something that just bleeds money every year cannot continue.

When you start adding details and ideas to your original idea and the idea grows too large to realistically launch. Very common in software. An example is:

Let's do a competition with just invited past champions. Oh lets add teams that are recent champions. Lets make it 2 days instead of 1. Wait lets make it 3. Lets add juniors. Lets add level 4, thats basically level 5.

It's not that the ideas are bad, its that to launch you need a concentrated core of a good idea you know you can execute well to start THEN add more ideas.

I have to go with King on this one. Keep it small and more controlled in the early years and then expand once established.

Jr's competing is an interesting concept. Not for this season obviously but.......something to think about.

i know this is completely off topic, and might be a dumb question. but since were talking about the junior teams im curious... cali allstars junior mafia, dont the majority of those girls compete at the senior level this season 2013-2014. and will that team be basically retired/removed because of it.

Yes. The name was retired so if they have a j5 it'll have a different name since most aged out of jrs (or reached 12) and moved to senior
