Just CP and I flew to Dallas. Our airfare from FL was about 550 total. We split hotel with one other mom and CP, so 160. We went to a theme park comp, driving distance from our house, two hours, NOT Summit, which there you could just purchase entry to WWOS, which is what my family did after our trip the month before to the other big theme park there in Orlando, which required hotel stay that was 65o for two nights, had to stay there, then three theme park tickets, which FL resident had blackout dates on, so not able to use a pass, and then another admission on top of that one to get in to see them compete. No option of skipping theme park to cut costs. Plus for Summit, we were told we were going to compete, not play, stay out of the parks at Summit, which I wholeheartedly agreed with. It was a "fun" 1500 minimum comp in Orlando, which did have Worlds bids, but no Summit bid, and at that point our team, anyway, was focused on Summit, and I wasn't thrilled personally to be spending that on a "fun" comp right at end of season with Orlando again in a couple of weeks. May have felt differently if it was a bid opportunity. I love the bigger comps, but catching "bid" fever, in my "the checkbook" case, anyway, I wouldn't have been so grumpy about it if we would have had the opportunity to turn our AL Summit bid into a paid one. Got my avatar, though, at that comp.
I think this comp will be good. If there is a live stream, I'm sure I'll buy it. Doubt we're making it out of Hall D again this year, @ascheerman, we'd pay for the live stream down there, too. Y3 this year, but pretty sure that means we're still in the BLC. ;)
I don't think Y3 by any means should be in arena. It was our first year last year and was just a lot of walking back there. Each turn, is this it? Nope, keep walking. Is this it? Nope, keep walking.
